As the count down begins: Who will replace Shona Ferguson on Kings of Joburg?
A few months ago, the late Shona Ferguson wowed Mzansi when he revealed that hit series Kings Of Joburg would be returning for season two.
Little did we know that he wouldn’t be part of the show. Shona Ferguson died earlier this year on 30 due to Covid-19 complications, and he was admitted to the Netcare Milpark Hospital.
No doubt he was a king in the history-making. The seasoned actor and director was a jack of all trades and master of all. His illustrious career was capped with an international accolade not so long ago due to his flair and craft competence on the 6-part drama series Kings Of Joburg.
However, the 6-part drama series seems to have taken a knock after the untimely death of Shona. Rumour had it that season two beamed for this year.
Before Shona’s death, rumour had that the series was dropping its season 2 on 3 December. In the mix of things, Mzansi has been wondering who will be replacing Shona.
Well, in the drama series Shona starred as Simon “Vader” Masire. Vader is a KOJ brotherhood member and happens to be its leader who calls the shots and always cleans up the mess.
Will Shona Ferguson be replaced on Kings Of Joburg or the Sho continues
On the other hand, he runs the family affairs, and he is that charismatic brother we all love to hate. However, on the other hand, he has the demons that make him powerful. So Mzansi has been connecting the dots will his character be killed, or Ferguson films will pull one more magic trick to keep the Sho Going.
The series has a star-studded cast that includes Zolisa Xaluva, Cindy Mahlangu, Thembi Seete, Tsholofelo Matshaba, Tokollo Sebothoma, Abdul Khoza, SK Khoza, and Buhle Samuels.
Shona will be remembered for his gigs on Kings Of Joburg and Rockville. On Rockville, he starred as JB Bogatsu, and the drama series wrapped up its 5th season a few months ago. Taking it to social media, Shona thanked the cast and hoped for them for the best.
“To the entire cast & crew, THANK YOU for your world-class talent and professionalism. You guys make me happy. Thank you, @mzansimagic, for trusting us to bring another season of the show that started the drama series on the channel.”
