Seasoned actor Menzi ‘Muzi Mthabela’ dumps Imbewu The: Seed
In the wake of his character, the man of the oath, Muzi Mthabela, has decided to call it quits. The seasoned South African actor has dumped etv’s drama series Imbewu because of his on-screen character. Rumour mill has it that the actor has already left the drama series set after a mutual agreement.
Muzi is best known for his unmatched talent as Duma on the now axed drama series Isibaya. Currently, he is nailing his on-screen character of Menzi on Imbewu: The Seed.
It has been revealed that the actor formally requested to be excused from the show. In the backdrop of his exit, it has been revealed that the actor indicated that his character was now too much to handle.
“The source revealed that he is becoming frustrated with his Casanova role, which was not sitting well with his personal life, as he is a devoted Christian church member and is married”, revealed the source.
However it the source went on to spill the tea about the reasons behind the actor’s exit. Honestly, he was tired of his role, and it came to a point where he said it was enough.

He was not ok with his storyline changing women and getting intimacy whilst he is a God-fearing man in real life. When he joined the drama series, he was unaware that his character would turn south like this. Taking it to, he confirmed his exit.
Rumour has it that when he marked his return to Johannesburg, he was tipped for a Generations gig; however, things went south. After failing to secure a gig on Generations, he then starred on Imbewu.
“I did audition for Generations: The Legacy, but they took someone else,” Mthabela said.
However, the seasoned actor did indicate that he was not leaving the drama series on the wrong note.
“I am leaving the show; that part is genuine. I have not renewed my contract for next year because I have to go back to Johannesburg to be with my children.
“I had an agreement with my wife that we would give Imbewu: The Seed a try for a year to see how it would be for us as a family.”
In the wake of these developments, Imbewu Showrunners did confirm the exit but didn’t rule the fact that the actor might return to the drama series.
