Thando was born in Johannesburg on 18 June 1990. She graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting. While at the university, she landed a job at the local radio station, starting with reading the news then later as a DJ. In her final year, she landed a gig at YFM. At that same time, she had also made a debut in her television career with a lead role on My perfect family, where she played Thando Nkosi. She also landed roles on Intersexions, Single guys, Housekeepers, Mzansi Love and Blood Psalms.
The TV personality also landed a role in Generations as Nolwazi Buzo. On radio, she started running her own show, which was called The Thabooty drive on 5FM. Her acting career has seen her landing roles in movies like Love lives here and Mrs Right Guy. She has hosted the SAMAs alongside Somizi. Her show called Thando bares it all on TLC won the Best talk show award.
