He has been making all sorts of headlines of late, and his unmatched talent has seen him being dupped as one of Mzansi’s finest. No doubt you cant talk about Generations without complicating Kope Makgae, who plays Mrekza into the equation. However, the 35-year-old actor was born on 7 November 1985, Lebowakgomo, Polokwane.
The seasoned actor has managed to wow Mzansi, be it on or off-screen. He is a jack of all trades and master of all. The seasoned actor got Mzansi talking when he indicated that he used to sell Kota sandwiches to make ends meet back then in high school.
However, this was done in a bid to fund his studies. The actor then goals into events management, majoring in catering. This was all done so that he could have a seat in the booming entertainment industry.
A few years later, he graduated with a BA in media and communications from the University of Limpopo. After joining a modelling and acting agency, the rest is history.
The star actor thrust into the limelight came when he bagged a cameo role on Zone 14. In the drama series, he played an electrician. His flair saw him featuring on television commercials. On television commercials, he was best remembered for his OLX and DStv ads.

The inventive Makgae also has an online TV channel, Lalela TV. It serves as a platform for the youth, focusing on finances, relationships and social dynamics. However, in the wake of his Generations gig, many questions have been asked on how much the actor earns per month.
For his Mrekza character, the actor is paid R50 000 per month. However, one should note that actors’ salaries are determined by role prominence and time on scenes.
Despite earning a decent salary on Generations, the actor has several streams of income. Not so long ago, he saw himself trending after he signed a multi-million deal with MultiChoice SuperSport for advertising.
