Zama Magubane is a South African actress who plays the role of Madongwe on Uzalo. On Uzalo, Madongwe is a devoted Christian previously married to Mbatha – William Mnguni. Madongwe lives in the poverty and crime-infested suburb of KwaMashu with her daughter Lily, niece, Nonkanyiso and nephew Njeza.

Her contract had improved terms and earns a monthly salary of R16 000 and 5 hrs appearance bonus of R25 000. In return, she surrendered her onset image rights to Stained Glass TV.
Off-screen, Zama Magubane is friends with Dawn Thandeka – King. Despite having a master and servant relationship onscreen and contrast fortunes, Madongwe and MaNgcobo are friends in real life. The pair frequent each other’s houses and supports personal functions.
