No doubt she got the plug and her talent is unmatched. She has been making all sorts of headlines of late. In the wake of the headlines Royalty Soapie Awards showrunners and Mzansi at large have capped her acting brilliance with an award.
Actress Lebohang “Lettie” Mpyana who plays the role of Khelina on DiepCity is a hit on the Mzansi Magic telenovela. The actress who scooped Viewers’ Choice Best Actress at the Royalty Soapie Award over the weekend revealed that she would dedicate her two awards to her grandparents.
During her speech, the bubbly actress indicated that she grew up without her parents. However, she later indicated she only knew her grandparents who took care of her. The actress even indicated that despite doing some acts for them at their dinner table her grandparents did not trust that she can make a good career out of her bubbly personality. Despite all the odds a few years later she is one of Mzansi’s fav and finest when it comes to small screens.

She still envisioned herself on TV even when her teachers and community members of Mmotong, Ramokgokong in Limpopo didn’t offer a helping hand to grow her career.
She received an arts certificate, joined Mahuma Group where she was an employee for 18 years and has been a part of Thobela FM’s Mahlakung soapie since 2016.
Diep City which received 32 nominations at this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards, gave Mpyana the role of Khelina after she auditioned on her Instagram in 2019.
“I did an Instagram audition back in 2019 and I didn’t know it was for Diep City, someone just told me to do an online audition.
They called me in late 2020 and told me that they have a suitable character for me and I should not bother coming through for auditions because they were already pleased with what they saw on my Instagram. The power of social media!”
