‘ANC executive has no power to unsuspended President Ramaphosa’, defiant Magashule argues
According to Suspended ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule, The ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa remains “suspended” until a court of law decides otherwise. This comes after the suspended ANC Secretary General said the ANC executive committee has no power to say the suspension of President Ramaphosa was not lawful.
Ace Magashule insists the ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa remains suspended until a court of law decided otherwise. The ANC suespende Secretary General argues in the affidavit filed at the high court in Johannesburg.
He disputes that the party’s highest decision making body, the National Executive Committee had no legal standing to declare his letter to the president as unlawful and invalid. Magashule is protesting that the president was allowed to attend the meeting that discussed his suspension.
“What makes matters worse is that Ramaphosa was the same person to communicate the verdict in the case about my suspension,” he goes on.

“Suffice to say one cannot imagine a bigger affront or violation of the rule of law than the anarchy which might follow if any person was allowed to resort to self-help by simply ignoring actions taken in terms of empowering provisions of statutory law or the common law, by simply ignoring those actions without taking any steps to declare them unlawful by using the correct and available legal processes.”
“This is exactly what Ramaphosa and the ANC did in respect to the suspension of Mr Ramaphosa No court can conceivably endorse this kind of conduct,” argues Magashule
The public thinks the suspended ANC secretary General is just trying his luck but will not win this war. Taking to Twitter some members of the public actually see this as funny and do not take Magashule seriously. Here are some of their views:
