Scandal’s Quinton and Isidingo’s Morongwa join new show
Soso Runqu captured hearts with her Isidingo performance as Morongwa. One this is for sure- she brought the best out of the smart hustler and welder of Isidingo. Her command of the Xhosa language and her relationship with Gatanga had viewers eating out of the palms of her hand. Her exceptional performance had the role grow from just a sideline role to possibly her biggest on screen character to date.
“This character I play is very interesting because it is nothing like the characters I have played before, I’m very excited about that. She is quite strong and stern. Zanele is new in town and she is trying to figure things out and where its going to lead and what’s going to happen. She is the first female detective on the show. The aim for me is for people to love the character, I am going to try to play her to the best of my ability and I don’t want her to just be a cop, she is a woman at the end of the day. There will be some kind of softness within her, the viewers would have to watch to find out, we don’t know what might happen. “I try to stay on top of my game, we are not all going to be doctors but we are all blessed in different ways. I always say that ask God what your purpose is. I preserve and try to be true to my craft. I have been inspired by many people in my life and work ethic. But most importantly I have learnt to be true and honest in the characters that I play”
