Customers were left in awe as a baboon entered a supermarket and stole a bag of chips. The incident leaves a lot of people with tons of unanswered questions. Panic made other customers flee the sight.
Baboons are well known for their thieving expertise. However, they do not steal in plain sight and especially a very crowded area. What others describe as a funny scenario, others are linking it to witchcraft. The supermarket workers chased the baboon out of the supermarket and put it in cuffs to lighten the moment as some clients were already frantic.
To everyone’s surprise the baboon was very familiar with where to land in an attempt to escape the scene. This leaves room for speculation that the baboon is a human who transformed as a disguise using juju. Times are tough and it not surprising that one would stoop that low. Scientifically a baboon has 91% DNA similarities with a human being and African tradition believe that human transformation into a wild animal is possible.

Sources also report that no one saw the baboon entering the supermarket. The crowd blames the security personnel for letting their guard down hence disturbing the clients’ peace.
Some incidents of baboons stealing have been reported in Zimbabwe. These incidents mainly occur at Game Parks, Safari resorts and the wild. How the supermarket staff manages to capture the animal is a mystery. Many a times a baboon can easily disfigure one’s face if attacked despite invading people’s territories.
