Mastermind returns as a policeman after Uzalo fires Captain Mpambani
Ntokozo TK Dlamini who plays the role of Mastermind is back on Uzalo as a policeman, he replaces veteran actor Jet Novuka who plays the role of tough Captain Mpambani. Rumours have made rounds for months after his dramatic exit from Mzansi’s hit soapie Uzalo. He bounces back as a decorated policeman a complete opposite to the hardcore criminal we used to know.
Mastermind returns to the soapie also the wake of Uzalo’s Nyawo incident. Cebolenkosi Mthembu who plays Nyawo a policeman on Uzalo recently lost his voice after recovering from Covid-19.
Jet Novuka joined Uzalo the KZN production in July 2020, he played the leader of the KwaMashu police department role of Captain Mpambani. Due to his toughness and investigative nature, Uzalo fans suggest that he is a policeman in real life. He leaves Uzalo on a high after uncovering long-forgotten murder cases.
Mastermind had a dramatic exit from Uzalo. He was nabbed for his crimes but it seems as if he is back as a changed man not only that but as a police officer.
He changed because he wants to have a decent life with Thobile and even want to settle and have kids with her. His confession and willingness to change earned him a promotion by the senior police officers.

Will Mastermind not be another collateral damage just like Qhabanga who used to be a cop but turned back to his old criminal life?
We all know that he left unfinished businesses behind. He will be back to haunt Mageba and his gang. Countless arrests will be made but he will face some backlashes as Nkunzi is brought into the picture. But he will bring sanity to the KwaMashu police station no doubt about that.
Recently Uzalo revealed that it was bringing its big guns back in the wake of a mass exodus of lead actors. It seems Mastermind is the first ace to be back to the show. Yes, they have been making all sorts of headlines and it seems as if the rumour might come true as they are set to return to the hit soapie. Of late Uzalo has seen the mass exodus of lead actors after Dawn Thandeka King, Baby Cele and Siyabonga Shibe parted ways with the show.
To many, the much-awaited exit of Cele and Shibe didn’t come as a surprise as they both confirmed their exit late last year after making a series of headlines. However, the exit of Uzalo firebrand Mangcobo took Mzansi by surprise. Even a few weeks later little is known about her exit but the vivacious actress is set to star on an upcoming series.
With Mastermind already on set, we are yet to see GC, Thobile and Mxo making their much-awaited return.
