Uzalo has managed to wow Mzansi for seasons despite having a backlash because of its ever-changing storylines. Of late Uzalo has been making headlines for wrong reasons from salary woes to a mass exodus of lead actors. Not so long ago Uzalo actors down tools over unpaid salaries whilst firebrands like Gabisile and Dawn Thandeka King exited the soapie.
Despite being the most-watched soapie in Mzansi with at least 9.8 million viewers many might think that Uzalo is one of the most paying soapies but that’s not. However, actors tend to engage in other incoming stream side hustles to earn a decent living.

Wiseman Mncube
Wiseman Mncube who is best known for his on-screen character Sbonelo made headlines late last year when he released a hit. Mncube released an Amapiano hit song which is titled, Pick and Choose. He collaborated with Durban-based artist Vukani!
It seems as if singing is a family thing. No doubt like art imitating life, Wiseman took in the steps of his on-screen father Nkunzi played by Masoja Msiza who also released a song last year.
Simphiwe Majola
Recently Simphiwe Majozi who plays the role of Sbu lashed out at his fans who treat him as a joke and cant strike the difference between his on and off-screen character. The vivacious actor last year released a song titled, Nizobona Ngomophu. Majola song was aimed at creating awareness about Covid-19.
My single Nizobona Ngomopho is doing well. Sometimes when I perform my single I can feel that the crowd things it’s Sbusiso on stage. That bothers me.”
The success of his song prompted him to release an album. Besides acting and his musical gigs, Sbu is also a PR consultant for Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
