Dumisani Mbebe Axed From Upcoming Netflix Series After Contracting Covid-19
Multi-award-winning South African star actor Dumisani Mbebe who plays ‘Mzwakhe Masilela’ on “Vutha” has been axed from an upcoming Netflix series. The veteran actor is best known for his stellar performances on drama series such as “Generations”.
The South African star actor Dumisani Mbebe has been fired from an upcoming role on a Netflix Tv series after he failed to show up for a table read.
The seasoned vivacious actor had a leading role on the upcoming TV series being directed by Nigerian filmmaker, Akin Omotoso.
What’s baffling however is the fact that Dumisani Mbebe is currently self-isolating after contracting Covid-19 and there was no way he was going to risk going to the table read.

Dumisani has been sharing his journey of recovery on his Twitter account. However, Mbebe career which spans for decades is something he can boast around with despite being axed from the series.
The talented actor thrust into the limelight with his stellar performance on Generations. Dumisani starred on Generations from 2008 to 2011 as Dumisani Shabani.
Mbebe was fired after from SABC1 hit soapie after he repeatedly violated ethical principles. He also starred on SABC 1’s drama series Divers Down and Interrogation Room. Veteran actor Mbebe also had a starring role “Shooting Stars” a drama series on e.tv.
The actor also featured in films such as “Country Of My Skull” in 2004 and “Primeval” in 2007. In 2011 he played the role of ‘Malusi’, a boxing gym owner in the eleventh season of the drama series “Soul City” on SABC 1. He also starred in the Mzansi Magic telenovela “Inkaba” where he played the CEO of Kwezi Dezign, ‘Kwezi Mthetho’.
The actor plays ‘Mzwakhe Masilela’ on SABC 2’s new medical drama “Vutha”. His character is the hospital CEO who is terrorised by a loan shark for outstanding debts. He stars alongside celebrated actors and actresses such as Leroy Gopal and Busi Lurayi.
