Pebetsi Matlaila, Mokgadi Maputla in Skeem Saam she does not want to get married
Pevetsi Matlaila has come out and criticised marriage.
The actress who is known for portraying the character of Mokgadi Maputla in Skeem Saam has said she doubts she will ever get married.
The irony of it all is that her character on the popular soapie is facing marital issues. The actor revealed that she reached the conclusion not to get married after asking people about the pleasures of marriage. She said her questions centered on what goes on in a marriage, how does it work, and the kind of challenges one had to expect.
She said the responses she got from women were not inspiring and have made her decide that marriage is not for her. She said marriage seems like a wholly different institution. She said marriage counsellors have told her there is no difference between what one experiences when dating and in a marriage. Pevetsi added that marriage counsellors will tell you you can keep making a marriage feel the same way as dating. She, however, said the experience for people she has asked has proved that cannot work.

Mokgadi Maputla revealed that her partner has been asking her to marry him but she has constantly told him no because she cannot. She said she grew up believing marriage is goldy and a beautiful thing but that has changed. Mokgadi says she is still conflicted about marriage and waiting for someone who will give her a different story than the one she has heard from the married people whom she has asked.
