Star actress Malefu from the River born Moshidi Motshegwa set to replace fired Zitha Langa character played by actress Zoe Mthiyane on Generations: The Legacy. The River terminated Motshidi contract after Season one and has been off-screen ever since.
Generations The Legacy insiders are apparently not surprised that Zoe Mthiyane who played Zitha was fired this week by Mfundi Vundla. Zoe was previously nabbed by the police for drinking and driving. Recently the star actress has been having some meltdowns on set after her breakup with former co-star Rapulana Seiphemo.
Zoe’s fall was imminent, Generations The Legacy boss Mfundi Vundla is known for his ruthlessness behind the scenes. Zoe and Mfundi Vundla’s relationship turned south last year. Mfundi had enough of her binging alcohol on set, terrible headlines, and melodrama with her ex–boyfriend Tau Mogale which wasn’t doing any favours to the image of the longest-running SABC 1 soapie.

It is said the Mfundi was apparently waiting for her to slip up one more time before showing her the exit door. Although fans of the show are distraught by her exit because of her talent and the storyline around her character, Mfundi did not want anything to do with her again after her series of drama.
The Legacy production team has apparently been in talks with the award-winning actress; Moshidi Motshekgwa to replace Zoe.
Malefu has been a fan-favourite for many South Africans as she’s highly regarded in the acting and entertainment industry.
Moshidi Motshegwa’s legal team is still negotiating contract terms and there’s been no final confirmation as to when Motshidi will start filming for her role on Generations The Legacy.
Zoe Mthiyane was apparently blindsided by her dismissal after doing well on the set despite her offset drama. She is taking her time at home and she has not mentioned what her plans are for the future yet, we are sure she will focus more on her music career while planning for the next move.
