Abigail Kubeka has affectionally known by many as Zondiwe Mogale a role she stars on the SABC TV series Generations The Legacy. Onset Zondiwe Molagale is Tau Mogale and Thsidi Phakade’s mother. The 80-year-old South African actor was born in Orlando East on the 7th December 1939.
Abigail started her hilarious career at a tender age. Kubeka made a name for herself when she sang with popular musicians such as Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela. The star actress made a name for herself when she collaborated with Africa’s musical sensation, Thandi Klaasen.
In the early 2000s, Kubeka won the Lifetime Achievement Award for the best musician and Jazz Industrial. In 2014, Kubeka was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from South Africa Film and Television Awards (SAFTAS). The reckoning force in the entertainment industry, Kubeka when she was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Wawela Music Awards.
No doubt that Kubeka’s master class acting has made her one of South Africans finest. Since her first beaming on the screen Kubeka has surely mastered the art of acting. With her career having spanned for decades Kubeka has acted in more than 18 Films. Since 1969 Kubeka has featured in multi-awarding films such as The Long Run amongst others. Apart from film acting, she has also made headlines in Soapie operas such as Generations as Mama Zondiwe. In 2020 she set the entertainment industry ablaze through her stunning role in Queen Sono. Muvhango MaNkosi Buthelezi- Cynthia Shange
Cynthia Shange is one of South Africa’s most recognizable faces owing to her modeling and acting careers. Shange was born in the year 1949. She was born in the Lamontville region of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Obviously, MaNkosi Buthelezi’s character on Muvhango will actually take her to the grave. On Muvhango she starred as a mother to Thandaza from Muvhango on SABC2.
Shange got into modeling in the year 1970 and was successful almost immediately. In her first modeling contest, she won the title of Miss Natal. This afforded her the opportunity to enter and win in the Miss South Africa competition, securing the title of Miss Black South Africa.
She represented South Africa at the Miss World competition in 1972. Following her run in modeling and fame from being Miss SA, she transitioned into acting.
She made history by appearing in South Africa’s first-ever black feature film titled Udeliwe. In the year 1986, she joined the Shaka Zulu cast where she played Mkabi in the five-part miniseries. The star actor has received a number of accolades such as the golden horn for Lifetime Achievement. Sure through her colourful career Shange has become Mzansi’s golden oldies we cant get over.
