South African reality TV star, business woman and dancer Zodwa Wabantu has spoken for the first time about a video of herself sniffing drugs (cocaine) that surfaced on social media.
There is a viral video that seemed to show Zodwa Wabantu taking what looked like cocaine.
Reached for comment by Daily Sun, Zodwa Wabantu claimed she does not take drugs and she only made the video to educate her followers about the dangers of drug abuse as it is one of the problems affecting South Africa especially the youth.
Zodwa claimed to have the video four months back when South Africa was still under level 2 lockdown for the purposes of demonstrating the dangers drug abuse. She did not elaborate how such a video was helping with raising awareness on the dangers of drug abuse.
“I made the video during level 2 lockdown and I posted it on my Instagram.
“I always take videos talking about something or even advertising brands but that time I was telling people about the dangers of drugs and just giving a practicable example of how people take drugs using flour from my kitchen”
Asked on the reasons why she deleted the video, Zodwa said it was normal for her to delete old videos from her Instagram.
“The reason I deleted the video is that I normally just clean my Instagram. I get rid of old videos”
Zodwa has been making headlines recently after taking a video of herself with her Mamlambo snake that she jokingly claimed it was bringing her money.
She also announced her new ‘bae’ whom she described a businessman in an Instagram post. The picture has since been deleted.
