Makhadzi, the singer and dancer who is known for her hit songs such as Ma Gear and Murahu, recently had an outstanding performance during the Netball World Cup 2023. She entertained the crowd with her energetic and captivating dance moves and vocals at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town.
The 27-year-old star, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, was overjoyed to perform in front of several spectators, including the South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Minister of Sports, Arts, and Culture Zizi Kodwa. She also had the opportunity to meet and greet them after her performance.
She took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her fans, who have supported her throughout her career. She also thanked God, herself, and her team for making her dreams come true. She shared that she cried so much when Ramaphosa praised her for being a great performer. She said she was happy and proud of herself.
She posted a series of photos and videos on her Instagram account, showing her performance, her meeting with Ramaphosa and Kodwa, and her emotional message to her fans. She captioned the post with:
“Last night I cried so much guys. I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has shown me support all these years. Firstly, God is the greatest, for all his grace. Then my day 1 fans who have been with me through the hard and the nice times… thank you so much guys, I am here because of what you do for me.
I also just want to thank myself for being me. For being strong and never giving up. Today I can shake hands with the President and he tells me straight in the face that I am a great performer… I am happy.”

The Netball World Cup 2023
The Netball World Cup 2023 was held from 28 July to 6 August in Cape Town, South Africa. It was the 16th edition of the quadrennial event, which featured 16 teams from different regions of the world. The tournament was hosted by Netball South Africa, in partnership with the International Netball Federation and the City of Cape Town.
The tournament was a success, attracting thousands of spectators and millions of viewers online. It also featured various cultural and entertainment activities, such as music, dance, art, and food. Some of the celebrities who attended or performed at the event were Black-ish star Anthony Anderson, singer Sho Madjozi, rapper AKA, comedian Trevor Noah, and actress Pearl Thusi.
The final match of the tournament was between Australia and New Zealand, who are both traditional rivals and powerhouse teams in netball. The match was a nail-biting thriller, with both teams exchanging leads and displaying high-level skills and strategies. In the end, Australia emerged victorious with a score of 54-51, clinching their 12th title and breaking their tie with New Zealand.
The host nation, South Africa, finished fourth in the tournament, after losing to England in the bronze medal match. However, they still received a lot of praise and support from their fans and fellow countrymen for their performance and spirit. They also qualified for the 2027 Netball World Cup, which will be held in Singapore.
