More than 185 learners at the Makaula Senior Secondary School in Mount Frere in the Eastern Cape have tested positive for the COVID-19.
The school administration has revealed that the school will temporarily close its doors for decontamination and further tracing and testing of learners exposed.
“As a government requirement and WHO protocol, the school will shut its doors and allow decontamination of surfaces. We plead with parents to ensure that those tested positive are self quarantined, and doesn’t face stigmatization at home,” says a school official.
