ZUPCO Confirms Covd-19 Cases
The Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) has confirmed covid-19 cases.
In a notice released on Wednesday, the State owned transport company announced that ten of its employees tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
ZUPCO said that nine employees from the cash office at Willowvale depot tested positive for covid-19 whilst one other employee from the Belvedere Head Office tested positive for covid-19.
The transport company announced that it will continue testing for other employees.
ZUPCO said that it will continue to disinfect buses. The parastatal added that temperature checks, hand sanitization and wearing of masks by passengers and crew will be enforced.

ZUPCO joins a growing list of companies and institutions that have publicly announced that part of their workforce has been affected by the disease at a time the country continues to register more cases of local transmission.
On Monday, pension fund, the National Social Security Authority (NSSA), the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe (NSSA), Pick ’n Pay, Avenues Clinic and the Parliament of Zimbabwe recorded positive cases of Covid-19.
A long list of firms including Econet, retailer OK Zimbabwe, Federal Express, medical aid societies Cimas and PSMAS have over recent weeks closed part of their operations after employees were affected.
