Zodwa Wabantu in court more crimen injuria charges added
Celebrated exotic dancer Zodwa Wabantu is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court today, 12 August.
The vivacious TV personality was nabbed on Monday night for breaching Covid-19 regulations. However, it never rains but pours for the troubled dancer. According to police, crimen injuria charges will also be added. According to police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Kweza, Zodwa was later released on R1 500 bail.
Kweza has it that: “A 33-year-old lady was given R1 500 bail and will appear in the Randburg Magistrates Court on Thursday, 12 August. She was arrested by members from Douglasdale Police Station for contravention of the Disaster Management Act Reg 33(2) for not confining at home after curfew together with three other suspects. Crimen injuria charges will also be added.”

Wabantu saw herself trending after she shared her arrest Live on Instagram. She indicated that she was being confronted by the police yet she was an essential service. In one of her posts, she said she was coming from a gig when she was approached by police. She alleged that one of them demanded a bribe.
However, it was recently reported that Video: Zodwa Wabantu arrested. No doubt Zodwa Wabantu is trending yet again for the wrong reasons. Wabantu saw herself trending on Friday after she dropped a bombshell. She has it that she recently slept with Thabo. In the wake of that daring allegation, Zodwa was today nabbed with SAPS after breaching lockdown regulations.
However, the whole incident was captured on camera. In typical Zodwa Wabantu style, she recorded the whole incident with more than a dozen police forces pouncing on her and questioning her. The whole incident was streamed live on her Instagram account.

The video has since flooded social media and got Mzansi talking. However, rumour has it that Zodwa was travelling with her entourage after the curfew times and therefore asked to produce her permit. She did have her permit and produced it from her phone. She is an essential service. There seemed to be discrepancies though with the permit produced and one of the people who were travelling with Zodwa who she kept referring to as her manager.
