Zimbos impressed by the Mbuya Nehanda movie trailer
The secretary of Information and Broadcasting services Nick Mangwana posted a trailer of the Mbuya Nehanda Movie trailer with the caption :
“What do you think about this Mbuya Nehanda trailer? I think it’s a very good production.”
Many after seeing the video have given their views and seems most are delighted with the production. The movie is about Mbuya Nehanda was a spirit medium of the Shona people. Born in 1840 and died in 1898 Mbuya Nehanda was female Shona mhondoro ( meaning a powerful and respected ancestral spirit).
As one of the spiritual leaders of the Shona, she was one of the leaders of a revolt, the Chimurenga war, against the British colonizers led by Cecil John Rhodes in 1889. She was a Hera of the Hwata Mufakose Dynasty.

She and her ally who some historians claim was her husband, Sekuru Kaguvi were eventually captured and executed by the Company on charges of murder. Zimbabwe continues commemorating her by building a statue, naming streets after her, hospitals, songs, books and poems.
Taking to twitter Zimbabweans have this to say,
“I am loving it, its telling the truth about vasina mabvi befriending us meanwhile they had their hidden agenda.”
“It reminds us of where we are coming from?”
“This is a good production. We need more like these.”
“Its a nice one. Our story needs to be told by us.”
However, just like a coin with two sides other people are not happy with the movie itself being shot. Others are saying that they do not need to watch movies but want a better economy and the actual cause why Mbuya Nehanda died. Other bitter Zimbabweans think it is a way of shifting the people’s focus so that people in power continue with their deceiving ways.
