Zimbabwe COVID-19 lockdown extended by 14 days: President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa today announced a lockdown extension for 2 weeks after the first 21 days of lockdown elapsed.
To date Zimbabwe recorded the following corona virus statistics Tested: 2,626, Positive: 25, Negative: 2,601, Deaths: 3, Recovered: 2.

The national lockdown cannot be the strategy or is it going to be permanent. Gvt has embarked on expanded tests covering the whole country. This allows us to detect symptomatic cases.-President
All our institutions must become testing centres. We should increase the number of laboratories to ensure results come early.-President
This calls for more recruitment in the health sector. I held several meetings with business to mobilise the nation towards this new campaign. Contact tracing comes hard after testing. President
More of our health institutions are being re-purposed for Covid-19. The aim is to increase the number of beds. We need adequate PPEs. Gvt will stop at nothing to ensure that hospitals are fully equipped. President
Miners will stay at the work place. Manufacturing operations to resume at minimal levels. Essential services remain as before. I’m happy that the department of social welfare has rolled out help.-President
I trust and hope that people will continue to cooperate in the next two weeks as before. With regard to tobacco, TIMB has come to an agreement that auction floors are going to be decentralised.-President says concluding his address.
