Zanu PF spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa has blamed inflation as the reasons behind the procurement of personal protective equipment from Drax International by the government depsite the prices being quoted in United States Dollars.
During a briefing, A journalist asked, “You have condemned the attack on the First Family, what is your stance of the attempt by Drax International to fleece the country? Chinamasa responded, “I don’t know the actual circumstances that you are referring to. I wish i knew. But i know there is a problem about inflation, prices and tendering. I really don’t know if i were a person seeking services. I don’t know the prices i was going to charge. The suppliers will have to factor inflationary adjustments to the prices.”

Chinamasa has been mocked on social media for his response as the prices were quoted in Unites States dollars which is not currently losing value due to inflation.
Chinamasa went as further as threatening prominent journalist Hopewell Chin’ono for his role in exposing the shady deals being done by the first family in the procurement of essential equipment in the fight against Covid-19.

The systematic targeted attack on First Family members, Zanu PF has noted with concern the systematic and well cheorographed attacks by unscruplous people like Hopewell Chin’ono from the story that the First Lady convoy hit a child to the story of the Drax International and Delish Nguwaya.
