Zamani Mbatha cast as lead in new series, Isiphindiselo
The actor made his big break on the screen on Isithembiso where he played a young student with a knack for hustling and love triangles, Zamani. Following the end of the soapie, Zamani was cast in Rhythm City where he has once again captured hearts as Suffocate ‘s son, Pule. Pule is as different from his brother, Mzi as daylight. While Mzi, played by Jesse Suntele, is the lawyer who walks the straight and narrow, Pule is the cut corners and whatever if takes brother.
However, his stint with Rhythm City is set to be a short one as the soapie is soon to be cancelled. The show’s cancelation was announced just after Zamani joined the cast leaving fans disappointed.
The actor was sad about the show being cancelled but was still happy to have joined the massive show.
“I am sad and heartbroken about it. However, I will not carry it with me the whole way up until the end. So, I have decided that I am going to make the most of the last months I have on the show, performing even 10 times better than now. When I started, I didn’t know that this is where I will end up. I went from not knowing what acting was, to being an actor and ekugcineni ngigcine sengisebenza nabantu engikhule ngibukela kubo [in the end I ended up working with people I grew up looking up too. And the most beautiful part about Rhythm City is that they are very welcoming, there are like a family..”
None the less Zamani’s fans will be excited to know that his upcoming role with Isphindiselo might be his biggest one yet.
Zamani is not the only actor on the soapie who has made a life after Rhythm City plan.
Mduduzi Mabaso who plays Suffocate Ndlovu has also joined the cast of popular telenovel, eHostela.
