Young and Beautiful: Uzalo actress ‘MaMadlala’ Ntombifuthi Dlamini’s age shocks Mzansi
Ntombifuthi Dlamini is popular for playing the role of Mrs Madlala or Mamadlala on Uzalo. The Mamadlala role is characterized by a single woman, gossipmonger and one of the church leaders in the KwaMashu Kingdom Church. She is best friends with MaDongwe – the role played by Zama Magubane, and the two don’t know how to mind their businesses; they always poke their noses in people’s businesses.
Famous for dressing in three pieces of fancy suits and her signature brown weave, Mamadlala is always on the prowl, seeking attractive young boys to date. The modern-day young boys are known as Ben 10’s, always striving to take advantage of old and desperate, lonely women to scum their finances in the pretendence of love and affection.
Over the storyline, she dated a young boy named Kehla who his parents threw out; she often called him King K. Kehla took advantage of Mamadlala’s loneliness and desperation for affection to milk her pockets dry. She flirted with Sbusiso “Sbu” Makhathini – the role played by Simphiwe Majozi and recently lost herself in the hands of young and handsome Nomgca.
Uzalo actress MaMadlala’s real age
Uzalo fans have in recent times questioned Ntombifuthi’s age. In real life, Ntombifuthi was born on 21 January 1985; she is way younger than her MaMadlala (49) role on Uzalo. The difference between her age and role on Uzalo speaks to her versatility to fit perfectly into a role. Ntombifuthi, a cleaner before the Uzalo gig, revealed that she auditioned for Uzalo, seeking to score an extra coin.
Ntombifuthi was invited with many others, to feature on Uzalo as church extras.
Her natural aura charmed the show producers and offered the role of an extra, which later created a main role on the SABC1 soapie.
‘I thank God every day for this on-screen role; I had worked as a cleaner before and was struggling with the upkeep of my family. The company (Stained Glass Production) offered me a role when I wasn’t qualified; I thank God for that.”
Despite being uneducated, Ntombifuthi revealed that she draws inspiration from seasoned actress Dawn Thandeka King who played Mangcobo on Uzalo.
