After years of extortion and betrayal, Sho Madjozi has opened up on the reasons why she took disappeared from the public eye. The Limpopo based rapper busked into the scene in 2018 and won the Best newcomer of the year at the South African Music Awards the following year. She went international with the hit song ‘John Cena’. Surprisingly, Sho Madjozi vanished and rumours were that she was pregnant. No one knew what was happening with the 29-year-old rapper.
Sho Madjozi’s career
The award winner was one of the brightest South African talents of the century. She started her career as an actor when she featured on Mzansi Magic telenovela Isithembiso before releasing her debut single ‘Dumi HiPhone’ in April 2017. In 2018 she released her first album Limpopo Champions League, with viral hits like Huku and Idhom.
The sudden rise of her career became a mixed omen to the South African rapper. Sho Madjozi dropped her single ‘John Cena’ inspired by the WWE superstar John Cena. In the same year, 2019, she got a chance to perform as a guest at The Kelly Clarkson Show, where John Cena appeared. Before she disappeared from music, she had dropped her last piece, a mixtape titled ‘What a life.’
According to her Instagram feed, Sho Madjozi said her management betrayed her on several occasions. They defrauded her with the financial support from WWE superstar John Cena among others. Following then, Sho Madjozi went silent, but now she has opened up.

Much was said about Sho Madjozi’s silence; here are the real reasons she vanished from music. She posted on her Instagram feed saying that some of her management team had been stealing from her. “I discovered two people on my team had been stealing and doing all sorts of dodgy things to block opportunities from me,” she said.
“New management, the new music is fly, I’m looking cute, and I’m working on something ridiculous,” she said, hinting that she will be releasing new music soon.
