Woman from Chimanimani spotted breastfeeding a giant snake accused of witchcraft
A woman from Chimanimani who was spotted breastfeeding a huge snake at her friend’s place is being accused of witchcraft. This unbelievable incident was taken to Chief Mutambara after a 12 year old girl saw this strange act.
Gogo Savie Nenohomwe was seen breastfeeding a snake while uttering names of fellow villagers. Chief Mutambara urged the two women to go and consult a prophetess so that the truth could be revealed. The prophetess Madzimai Loice Mukono revealed that Gogo Ethel Sithole and Gogo Nenohwe use their homestead for witchcraft.
The 12 year old who encountered the horrific incident tells Manica Post what really happened.
“I saw Gogo Nenohwe breastfeeding a very big snake with a red cloth and beads tied around it. After breastfeeding it she then a plate of food and fed the snake. I also heard her calling out names of fellow villagers and telling the snake to deal with those people she mentioned,” said the young girl.

Other villagers confirm that they have seen a huge snake with a red cloth in the area. Maria who is a niece to one of the ladies accused of witchcraft confirms the snake stays with Gogo Sithole.
“I used to sleep in the room where Gogo Sithole keeps the snake. I had to beg my aunt to move me from the room because it was frightening. Sometimes the snake comes out to bask in the sun,” said Maria.
Chief Mutambara has summoned capturing of the snake so that the two women can be judged with enough evidence. Madzimai Loice Mukono is leading the team of the capturers and she promises that they will capture the snake this week and take it to the court.
