Produced by Rhythm World, the production team behind Umkhokha, My Brother’s Keeper unfolds the narrative of a family entangled in a lethal power struggle. Centered around Nqubeko, portrayed by Wiseman Mncube, the determined and ambitious son of a mistress who is weary of being relegated to the sidelines by his father, the story follows his transgression of the customary ‘ukungena’ rules. Nqubeko’s pursuit of power leads him to his brother’s widow, Fakazile (played by Zola Nombona), the woman wielding control over the Shabalala family empire.
Yet, Nqubeko’s relentless quest for supremacy and his insatiable need for his father’s approval set him on a collision course with his four half-brothers, endangering the Shabalala family and its future. The series delves into the corrosive influence of greed, unraveling a gripping narrative of ambition and familial bonds.
