No doubt Skeem Saam firebrand Cedric Fourie is winning big. From bagging a gig from etvs hit medical drama, Durban Gen, to bagging a degree. Yes, the star actor has proven he’s not just a pretty face.
Best known for his Skeem Saam character as Lehasa, Cedric Fourie joins a host of celebrated actors who are degree holders.
He recently graduated from the University of Cape Town, where he obtained a degree in management practices. The heart-throb says that obtaining the degree meant everything to him and that he was gunning for an MBA next year.
However, it was recently reported that Skeem Saam firebrand Cedric Fourie joins etv’s drama series, Durban Gen. No doubt Durban Gen is making all sorts of headlines from an interesting storyline to new vibrant cast members.

The drama series is trending after it added a new ace to its cast. Yes, Skeem Saam’s Lehasa has moved to the city with crashing waves, Durban for a new role that will see him literally save a life.
Cedric Fourie seems to have traded in his restaurant business scrubs in the City of Gold for the Surgeon scrubs in one of Durban’s hospitals, Durban Gen.
TV Plus announced the news on Twitter and said, “Cedric Fourie joins @DurbanGen_etv from Mon 12 July. Your eyes aren’t deceiving you: Cedric is playing Dr Mthembu, a persistent, charming and arrogant surgeon who never shies away from a challenge…and it’s going to include Zondo”
The news of his gig was first shared by Entertainment Commentator Phil Mphela. According to Phil Cedric will be a skilled surgeon who walks into Durban General – bringing mystery and intrigue to the wards.
Of late the drama series has seen itself dropping numbers in viewership. The drop came barely a few months after it became the first drama series to reach the 2 million viewership mark two months after its debut. To make matters worse the drama series has seen the mass exodus of actors of late.
Rumour has it that the show is bringing in new actors to boost its viewership. No doubt Lehasa might bring in the much-needed numbers.
