Willard Katsande (age 34) was born on 15 January 1986 in Mutoko, Mashonaland East Province in Zimbabwe, he is a Zimbabwean citizen. Referring to himself as Kitoko Makasi Boss Ya Mboka, Katsande is nicknamed Salt and Vinegar the name derived from fried potato chips flavor of Salt & Vinegar.

He started his career in Zimbabwe playing for lower division clubs which are Frontier Steel, Feruka and Highway. During the 2008 -2009 season with Highway F..: Frontiere attention of the then Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League outfit Gunners F.C. Katsande’s work rate prompted his move to Gunners F.C. in 2009-2010 season.
At Gunners F.C.
In his debut season, Willard Katsande’s unmatched defensive midfield play inspired Gunners F.C. to clinch their first Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League Cup. In the same season, Katsande left his mark in the CAF Champions League qualifies match when Gunners F.C. shocked African giants Al-Ahly 1 -0 at home. However, his solid display in the reverse fixture failed to stop the Egyptian side from scoring 2-0 to dump Gunners F.C. on 2-1 aggregate out of the CAF Champions League.
At Ajax Cape Town
Willard Katsande moved to Ajax Cape town in the 2010 summer transfer window after inspiring Gunners to a memorable CAF Champions League qualifiers and ZPSL Cup.
Katsande made his Ajax Cape Town Premier Soccer League (PSL) debut on 12 December 2010 in a convincing 2-0 away win against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Atlantic Stadium in Witbank. He went on and made 15 appearance for Ajax Cape Town before sealing a move to the Naturena the following season.
At Kaizer Chiefs
Willard Katsande joined The Naturena outfit Kaizer Chiefs on 15 August 2011 after being scouted by Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung. Bobby Motaung spotted Willard while he was on international duty with Zimbabwe in a match vs rival neighbors Zambia (Chipolopolo).
Willard Katsande made his Kaizer Chiefs debut a month after joining Kaizer Chiefs in the derby MTN final against rivals Orlando Pirates as s substitute replacing Tshabalala in the 81st minute.
Katsande scored a long range scorcher after taking a few steps off the centre line in a 4–1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic on 21 July 2013, with countryman Knowledge “Smiling Assassin” Musona scoring on his debut.
Katsande scored his first official goal on 15 March 2014 in the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates, the same team he made his debut against, being a header in the 61st minute in a 1–0 win. He scored almost on the goal line and headed past Senzo Meyiwa.
