The World Health Organisation (WHO) has warned young people that they too can die from Covid-19. There has been a misconception that only old people can die from COVID-19.
The world is at a standstill over the COVID-19 epidemic. There has been 11 000 deaths and 4 000 of those are from Italy where the daily death toll has been increasing at an increasing rate.
People who are most hit by the pandemic are the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions, young people have been warned that they too can die from the disease.
The message for young people
“Today I have a message for young people: you are not invincible. This virus could put you in hospital for weeks – or even kill you,” WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said
“Even if you don’t get sick, the choices you make about where you go could be the difference between life and death for someone else.”
Europe now the epicentre
Europe is now the epicentre of corona virus as infections are increasing in the region. Infections in China have started to fade as measures to combat the disease are being intensified.
