Ama played the role of Buhle Ndaba, the sister to Langa and daughter of banker Mbongeni Ndaba and Thathi Molefe. Buhle grew up in a wealthy family in Sandton; their life turned sour when Mbongeni was murdered in a botched hijacking ordeal. Together with her mother and sibling, they relocated to Alexandra township, where they lived with MaSonto, their grandmother. When Phumlani arrived in Gomora and married Thathi, he brought a beam of hope to Buhle, who had an appetite for soft life. Phumlani, who appeared to be Buhle’s saviour, turned into her worst nightmare; she disappeared after realizing that her uncle wasn’t the angel he portrayed. Despite efforts from family and community members to find missing Buhle, her whereabouts remain a mystery.
Exit from Gomora
The Blood and Water actress exited Gomora to explore international roles; according to close sources, her exit was by mutual consent with Stained Glass Productions.
“After playing a role in two seasons of Gomora, she felt the need to experience a different environment and pursue international gigs. She remains grateful and indebted to the show producers for the opportunity to showcase her talent and grow as a creative.”
Ama’s team rubbished allegations and reports that she left Gomora after a salary dispute with the showrunners.

She escaped the South African cold winter to enjoy the warm and sunny Thailand beaches. After Thailand, Ama Qamata travelled to Rwanda on a road trip and got stuck along the way; she managed to make new friends in the villages of Rwanda and took time to learn a new culture.
