At some point in the world of South African soapies, Generations was once a force to be reckoned with. Almost the entire country ran to their TV sets at 20:00 when it aired on weekdays. Amongst the cast members was the young and loveable Angela Motene, who Dineo Nchabeleng played. Angela was a sweet little girl who was a sibling to Johnathan Motene, played by Wright Ngubeni.
Both siblings were the children of the villain Julia Motene, and their uncle was Tau Mogale. Seeing that they were born into a prospering family in the media, they were pretty well cared for. Struggles came when they were getting older and facing individual challenges.
Angela stole the hearts of millions with her charming, sweet voice and stubborn personality. Unfortunately, her role and that of her brother were cut short as they went abroad in the soapie. We’ve seen her make a few television entries after Generations, but where is she now.
Child star substance abuse allegations
After exiting the soapie Generations, she kept a low profile from the media. At the time when a musical artist or an actor disappeared from the press, they abused substances. It was a dark period in the industry, seeing stars perish and become shadows of what they used to be. Some tabloids fabricated stories to sell news, and unfortunately, Dineo was a victim. She was alleged to be a drug user, but her parents supported her in dealing with that.
It shows she worked as an adult.
Luckily for the industry, Angela leaving Generations wasn’t the last time she was seen on the screens. She played in season 2 of Dream World. Dineo also acted on Gold Diggers, End Game, and Lockdown, and she hosted the show Mi Kasi Su Kasi in season 1.
Generations The Legacy is casting a new Angela
When the former Generations cast members were fired from the soapie due to a strike Generations, The Legacy was born. Surprisingly enough, the soapie managed to cast Connie Ferguson and Tau Mogale as returning actors. Generations The Legacy brought back Angela’s character, but they released Lebohang Mthunzi instead.
Dineo’s partner, child and lifestyle
Dineo is very private and reserved. Nobody quite knows who her partner is, if she has one. However, we can confirm that she is now a mother to a beautiful girl called Gabriella Bohlale. She spends her free time travelling and doing photoshoots.
