When Gadaffi’s Wife Oby Abudu from Generations The Legacy Appeared on Uzalo
Khabonina Qubeka is a South African actress famous for playing the role of Oby Abudu on Generations The Legacy and appeared briefly on Uzalo. On Generations The Legacy, Oby was a Nigerian ambassador to South Africa married to gangster Khumkani Gadaffi Phakade (role played by Vuyo Dabula). Their marriage of convenience gave fugitive Gadaffi diplomatic immunity.
Qubeka arrived on Generations when the shows viewership numbers were declining to give it a massive boost through the witchcraft storyline she executed perfectly. On Generations, Oby Abudu used black magic (juju) on her husband, controlling him and ordering him to bring her human organs for rituals.
Is Oby Abudu going to return on Generations The Legacy?
Khabonina exited Generations after her juju was exposed and spiritual powers deserted her. Though the reference to her character gets mentioned frequently in the script, there are limited chances that she will return on Generations The Legacy.
A return to the set is a death sentence – Khumkani is unforgiving, and the sight of Oby will trigger unpleasant memories. The couple is still legally married as they did not divorce, pointing to a possible return of Oby Abudu.
Khabonina Qubeka appearance on Uzalo

In 2006 -2007, Qubeka appeared on SABC 2 soapie Muvhango where she played the role of Doobsie, previously played by Khanyi Mbau. She is a musician and fitness and wellness advocate.
Under her music label Khabodacious Music, Qubeka released her first music album in 2010 and another single rap song titled “Wax It (Wax On Wax Off)”, which went viral in 2018.
