Well wishers have have expressed an interest to help poverty stricken Sungura artist and dancer Francis Dhaka known popularly known as Franco Slomo. Slomo is currently staying with his two children between them a two year old boy after he was deserted by his wife Lonah Guvheya.
His wife left because the squalid conditions that they were living in after Slomo failed to sufficiently provide for the family due to the ongoing national lock down. The Herald broke the story and Slomo has since received communication from well wishers who are ready to assist him.
“Im still receiving many calls from people who are ready to assist me ever since the story of my problems was published. I’m thankful that my problems could soon be over if those promises are fulfilled,’ Franco Slomo said.
Slomo rose to prominence as a dancer with Alick Macheso and Ochestra Mberikwazvo but left the band to start his own outfit Extra Kwazvose with some of Macheso’s band members. The band members returned to Machseo after the new project failed but he didn’t and he is still carrying on with his project.
