Recently, Blaq Diamond failed to pay their bill after going out for a fun-filled evening. The well-known musical ensemble was at The Pavillion Lounge, but they could not pay a bill that didn’t even total R10,000. The popular Twitter account of entertainment blogger Musa Khawula revealed that South Africa’s charmer boys had not paid their R8,760 bill.
What occurred at the club that led to the rappers not paying their bills has not been made public. Mzansi did not hesitate to express their views on the subject. Most of them assert that Blaq Diamond is now bankrupt because they recently parted ways with Ambitiouz Records and because they haven’t released any songs widely recognized under their own record, which indicates to South Africans that they aren’t earning enough money. Some even added that perhaps leaving such a well-known music production and doing their own thing wasn’t a good idea.
But fortunately, they produced music that endures forever while they were still known under Ambitiouz. Examples of these timeless hits include Summer Yomuthi and Price to Pay. Without a doubt, Blaq Diamond was succeeding wildly across the board, not just in Mzansi. They were ranked first on MTV Base’s Hottest New Wave list. South Africans couldn’t be happier about the boys’ well-deserved victory that propelled them to the top of the trends list. The firebrand from KwaZulu-Natal became popular due to their hit songs. They didn’t seem to be planning on stopping any time soon. Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa, better known as Ndu Browns and Danya Devs, respectively, make up the duo Blaq Diamond. The boys were shaking up the game with their brand-new, distinctive sound, all the way from Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.Because of their ability to incorporate Afro Pop and Hip/Hop, they had a distinctive sound that drew in a broad audience.
Some Twitter users speculated that since Ambitiouz is known for underpaying and abusing its musicians, this may have been the case with Blaq Diamond which caused them not to be able to settle their bill. In contrast to what other artists, like Ntaba yaseDubai, have to say about the label, the duo assured Mzansi in a recent interview with Macg that Ambitiouz has never robbed them as other artists and that they enjoyed working with them. They have nothing negative to say about the label. Perhaps Blaq Diamond should cut back on the partying and focus more on their music career; doing so might help pay the bills.
