Hope Mbhele is shaking things up in the entertainment industry. The actress who plays Amahle on Uzalo has announced that she is joining one of the biggest radio stations in the country, Metro FM.
The 26-year-old will be hosting the graveyard slot every Saturday, and Sunday between 3 am and 6 am.
The actress is not new to the airwaves; her first exposure to the entertainment industry was through radio. She was a radio presenter at one of Durban’s most famous radio stations called, Gagasi FM.
Hope was a part of the Gang Gang breakfast team at the station, and she also hosted a show called the Sunday Chill Zone. She recently shared a heartfelt goodbye to her Gagasi FM family. She joined the station in 2017.
The media personality has recently joined the cast of Uzalo as Lilly’s girlfriend, Amahle. She also did work in the Soapie Umkhokha as the beautiful Doctor Mabusi. She is also the host of a SABC music show called Issa Vibe.
She is cementing her status as a force to be reckoned with.
Metro FM shakes things up every year to keep up with new talent and trends. Every April, the station lets go and introduces new Radio presenters.
Recently, the station brought back Thabo Molefe, popularly known as Tbo touch. Thank left the station controversially a few years back and started his online radio.
Tbo Touch started his show The Touch Down, an afternoon drive show, at the beginning of April.
Hope visited the show on Wednesday, and she was invited by The Touch Down as a welcome note to her on the Metro FM family.
Hope shared videos and pictures of herself in the studio with The Touchdown team.
Hope has been working hard on her craft as an actress as well. Her character on Uzalo is currently embroiled in a controversial situation. She is tackling a sane sex relationship with her costar Noxolo Mathula who portrays Lilly MaDongwe.
Mbhele has created a fanbase for herself already; when she joined Uzalo, she mentioned that she started as an extra on the Soapie back in 2017, and now she is playing one of the leads. Her fans have sent her congratulatory messages.
Joining Metro FM is a stepping stone for the young lady as it is a much bigger platform.
