Uncle Waffles proved why she’s one of the most sought DJs in Mzansi. She proved why she gets so many gigs after such little time in the industry. She proved why she got a European gig with such little experience. Waffles set the crowd ablaze by feeding them hit after hit in Kimberly. People were dancing and euphorically screaming as Waffles was mixing on the decks. With her skill, she kept them at their toes over which song was coming next.
Waffles is not just a fantastic DJ, and she also has a fabulous stage presence. Firstly, her energy is unmatched. How she can pull her meh facial expressions yet be so energetic. Sometimes she leaves the turntables for the dance floor and shows the crowd her impressive dance moves. In Kimberly, she played her genre of choice, amapiano and gave her fans, a once in a lifetime musical experience. Her performance was certainly one for the books.
Gig after gig
If you follow music news, Waffles landed in Mzansi not too long ago from her European Tour. Ever since she returned to South Africa, she’s been doing gig after gig. She doesn’t seem to rest; Waffles is securing her bag. Did she take the limitless pill?
Uncle Waffles’ the United Kingdom Tour
She was on tour from the 5th to the 18 of March. She shared multiple snaps of her getting the crowd jumping during her tour. Yes, the tour was great for her resume and a stamp in the industry, but it did much more for her. With live performances, the artist stays in the hearts of her audience for a lifetime. Now that Waffles is releasing her music, her Europe fan base will stream her music from miles and miles away. She performed in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Dublin and Bournemouth.
Uncle Waffles’ BBC Interviews
As she was in the UK, she also managed to score herself an interview from BBC. She spoke about the amapiano sound, her passion for being a DJ and her single Tanzania. Many artists perform in Europe, but they don’t reach Waffles’ level. She is a force to be reckoned with.
Uncle Waffles is a unique artist in our time. Her stage name denotes that she is an uncle and that alone caused so much conversation and debate in Mzansi. Her hair always looks glossy, and her soft glam makeup is always top tier. Her dressing style also caused so much talk, but, Mzansi got used to it.
