Trevor Noah has gone straight to the White House. He is fast going upward and forward. He is turning into one of the most influential people in the world.
The South African is pushing boundaries and flying the nation’s flag higher than most.
He was recently honoured with an invitation to host a White House dinner.
The dinner is about honouring Journalists by giving them a high profiled dinner at the White House.
Trevor Noah headlining this event is the highest honour of his career as he continues to break boundaries worldwide. The comedian hosted the Grammy Awards early in 2022. That event is still in people’s heads. He trended for having an altercation with Kanye West on social media after the Rapper was barred from performing at the Grammys for throwing racial slurs at Noah.
The Grammys were a success, and so was the White House Dinner.
The event has been trending on social media for being a super spreader event as no one had a mask on; of course, Trevor took a shot and made a joke in his opening statement about this.
“It’s my great honour to be speaking tonight at the nation’s most distinguished superspreader event.”
He also had the opportunity to make jokes about President Joe Biden.
The Daily Show host mentioned that ever since Joe Biden took office, things are looking up and not in a good way.
“Gas is up, and rent is up, food is up! Everything!”
Joe Biden laughed at his jokes and the celebrities who attended the dinner.
The celebrities that attended include Kim Kardashian, Comedian and Actor Chris Tucker, Drew Berrymore and Martha Steward, to name a few.
Joe Biden acknowledged the importance of free speech in journalism and said that Trevor Noah would not be arrested for telling jokes about the President of the US.
“And Trevor, the excellent news is, now you get to roast the President of the United States and, unlike in Moscow, you won’t go to jail.”
The South African native took time to thank the President and all who accepted his jokes on the night.
“What a night! Thank you to the WHCA for having me and allowing me the distinct honour of roasting the President of the United States! 🇺🇸🤯 To the @POTUS @JoeBiden, @DrBiden, and everyone else on the receiving end. Thank you.”
Noah has been receiving mostly positive feedback from his followers and journalists on social media.
Trevor made history as the first African to host the White House Correspondents Dinner, as he did by becoming the host of The Daily Show.
Many feel that Trevor didn’t address some of the most critical political issues around the USA.
One can’t help but wonder what’s next for Trevor, and maybe he’ll run for President.
