Former The Queen star Vusi Thanda left Mzansi in tears after he cried out for help, but he served praise for the late Shona Ferguson for the aid he gave to him. With a career of over three decades, Vusi became the household name in the famous Emzini wezinsizwa. He stayed in comedy for over ten years and remained one of the legends as far as acting was concerned. After Emzini Wezinsizwa, Vusi’s fortunes started to take a downwards trend as he came closer to the end of his career by old age and sickness.
Vusi Thanda joined The Queen as Uncle Mzoxolo, and he had been impressive until his healthy took him off the screen. Since then, Vusi had been struggling as he had no side businesses to help him. His reserves ran out buying exceptional food for diabetes until he decided to open up about his struggles. The legendary actor opened up crying for help after he broke and received so much assistance from fans and fellow actors in the industry. Though he was down and in need of financial aid, Vusi Thanda had much to say about his help from Shona Ferguson before he passed away.
The things that Shona Ferguson did for veteran actor Vusi Thanda
In an interview with DJ Sbu, Vusi Thanda spoke highly of the Ferguson family and the Ferguson films. Despite not attending work due to his health issues, The Ferguson films supported him in many ways. He noted that Shona Ferguson specifically sent his driver money to buy food and pay medical bills.
In his own words, Vusi said:
Shona Ferguson sent his driver with a voucher of R5k to buy food. Then after he called me, gave me R12k for three months every end of the month
Many people knew how good Shona Ferguson was, and Vusi told it all. He continued saying that a few weeks later, he heard that Shona had passed away, which changed everything in his life. He also said that after Shona’s death, he did not get the help he used to get since Connie had a lot in her space to deal with. Shockingly, Shona had been encouraging Vusi to be well and come back to work. His death left Vusi with no job, and everything changed.
