Somizi announces the launching of his new show Downtime With Somizi on 1 Magic
Somizi Mhlongo has been winning big of late, from returning to Idols SA to airing his Downtime show with Somizi on Mzansi Magic. The news comes in the backdrop of his return to Idols SA after being cancelled following daring allegations levelled against him by his estranged husband, Mohale Motaung.
Downtime with Somizi will focus on the life of A-list celebrities and celebrated business moguls in Mzansi, focusing on the roller coasters they go through in their lives. The show is one of its kind as it will also offer some activities that will take them out of their comfort zone. Somizi dropped the news on his Instagram, and he seems elated by the news.
Confirmed reports have it that guests will partake in quirky, fun experiences and thereafter gear up for a relaxed dinner to discuss important and themed topics. No doubt he has been winning big of late, and it seems he is coming back on small screens with a bang.

In the mix of things, Somizi has shared some videos of him recording the promo for the show. The show will feature celebrities like Connie Ferguson and former Miss South Africa Peggy Sue Khumalo, who will share their experiences on love and loss.
The show will also feature Tbo Touch and DJ Sbu for the hustler’s episode, Bobby Motaung and Shauwn Mkhize for the Soccer rebels episode, Anele Mdoda and Thembisa Nxumalo on sisterhood.

Sunday World reported that the Mnet channel director Shirley Adonisi said they are very excited about the show. It allows the 1 Magic channel to explore the talk show genre, which she says their viewers have enjoyed in the past.
A few days he saw himself trending after his phone got hacked. However, he revealed that he lost a million-dollar year contract after the hackers savaged him in the mix of things. According to Somizi, the hackers made it clear and bold that he was not interested in the deal, and the potential employers called it off.
Downtime with Somizi will premiere on 1 Magic on Friday the 8th of April 2022 at 20h30.
