Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba, professionally known as Samthing Soweto, is officially back! The Akanamali hitmaker is trending everywhere after last night’s electrifying performance at the South African State Theater in Pretoria when he brought out The Soil.
He kicked off the first leg of his sold-out tour called Now or Never, which set off his provincial takeover; the second leg is in Cape Town in September, which he said was also sold out.
Samthing Soweto makes a massive comeback after taking what some said was some time out.
Samthing Soweto attracted negative attention to himself two months ago when he appeared to have lost so much weight on one of his social media posts.
This caused an outrage, and people started speculating that he might be sick. The outrage caused so much panic that he had to address the fans to calm them down.
“I’m not sick or dying, and I’m just going through a lot.”
Mdolomba is the most talented singer of our time, and he is proving it right now by selling out massive places like the South African State Theater in the Capitol.
To those who didn’t know, Samkelo was once a member of the hit-making Afropop singing group The Soil.
The musician is one of the founders’ makers of The Soil and helped build the famous sound; before the group turned big, he decided to focus on his solo career.
The Amagents singer says he struggled so much watching this group succeed without him.
Last night everything came full circle for Samthing Soweto.
While he was performing to his sold-out audiences, he called the trio to come and perform some of their hit songs with him on stage.
This drove the audience wild. The Soil consists of Ntsika Gxanga, the Beatboxer Luphindo and the lady of the house, Buhlebendalo Mda.
These four broke into We are family and a rendition of Sedi Laka; the audience couldn’t hold back as they sang along to the harmony.
Samkelo showcased his vocal abilities and engaged the crowd to the highest level.
His fans can’t get enough of last night’s concert, calling him breathtaking and talented.
“I got to watch Samthing Soweto perform Uvalo and Nodoli live 😭 I felt like I could cry. #samthingsoweto #nowornevertour”
The night was magical, but when The Soil came on stage with him, it was a moment captured in time.
If you are looking for a great live musical experience, Samthing Soweto is one of your best bets.
