Samkelo Mdolomba couldn’t resist the urge to find the man behind the song called Indandatho. This is the story of a man named Sicelo Zondi, who caught the talented Samthing Soweto when he found himself trending on Tik Tok.
Sicelo stays in Pietermaritzburg KwaZulu Natal and always keeps the public at taxi ranks entertained for small change at taxi ranks.
Sicelo sang a song called Indandatho and now he has a song that could lead to a hit single by none other than Samthing Soweto.
The Akanamali singer took to his social media a few days ago after seeing the video and asked if anyone knew who this man was when he was told by one of his followers that the man lives in Pietermaritzburg, Samkelo took a plane to KZN and started to search for this man.
The search turned into an adventure that Samthing documented and turned into a seven-part video marathon on his social media.
They say seven is the lucky number because Samthing was about to give up for the night when he got word that Sicelo was found.
Things turned even more special after that. Samkelo called Sicelo into his car and started to interview him.
At first, he asked him to sing the song that made him travel across the country to find him.
Sicelo was shy at first but he performed it. Samthing then asked I’m to explain how he came up with such a beautiful love song.
Sicelo explained that he was just joking around to get some money in the street, and then Samkelo played his rendition of the song, it all got emotional from there. Samthing Soweto added his special touches to the song and it is safe to say, Mdolomba is about to give us another hit.
The song talks about the Indandatho which translates to a wedding ring.
“I love you baby, I’ll send people to pay Lobola for you and give you a ring”
Sicelo looked shocked when he heard his own lyrics turned into a beautiful song by a mega musician in South Africa.
This is not the first time a big artist discovers a song from an ordinary person going about their business on social media.
Vusinova also took out an adventure recently when he heard a woman singing “Ndincede” on social media. He travelled all the way to the Eastern Cape to find Gogo Teng Teng who is the creator of the song after he saw her on social media.
