Like other artists in South Africa, Khanyi joined the bandwagon and recorded an Amapiano song entitled Shiya Indoda eDubai. The single was recorded after Khanyi abruptly left Dubai, camped with her boyfriend, Kudzai Mushinga, without notifying him.
Kudzai went live on social media regretting falling in love with Khanyi and not taking heed of her mother’s advice to leave the actress.
The Dubai debacle later turned out to be a well-choreographed gimmick to market Khanyi Mbau’s entrance into the Amapiano music genre. A week after the Dubai incident, Khanyi returned to the Arab country and reunited with his Zimbabwean boyfriend.

Where does Khanyi Mbau get her money from?
After the video went viral on social media, people asked each other about Khanyi’s sources of income. Khanyi makes lots of money from her jobs in the entertainment industry, and she is an influencer who promotes body care products and skin lightening businesses.
Seh also made money when she had roles in Muvhango, among other acting gigs she landed early in her career. She was once a radio host at Metro FM in 2016.
She is the face of an alcohol brand called I’m Khanyi which we believe she receives royalties for sales.
Khanyi featured also appeared in a movie titled Happiness is a Four-letter Word and The Red Room. She also starred in Frank and Fearless, a film produced by Leon Schuster.
