Amapiano meets hip hop as the amapiano Kabza De Small makes new music with rapper Kwesta. Quite frankly, it’s nothing new for artists from different genres to make music together, but nobody foresaw the collaboration.
On the video posted by Kabza, both himself and the Ngud’ seemed to be having a blast; the song they are making also seems fire considering the beat and bars, although we haven’t heard the finished product.
Kwesta’s dabbled in amapiano before
Kwesta is one of the many South African rappers in the mainstream side of entertainment to; dabble in the genre of amapiano; his song will not be the first in the amapiano space. He’s featured on the amapiano song Ziwa Muntru by Dj Vetkuk and Mahoota. He’s also featured on the Krrr ( Phum’imali ) music by MFR Souls. On the amapiano tracks he’s done before, he stuck to his element and rapped over the groovy beats instead of forcing himself to sing.
Kabza has featured artists from different genres.
Kabza is notorious for fire collaborations. One of his best and most unexpected was with the singer Makhadzi. Makhadzi and Kabza made the song Salungano, and it became a big hit across stages in Mzansi. He’s also featured soulful singers like Ami Faku, and he made a lot of music with sweet-voiced Samthing Soweto.
Expectations of the song
Both the musicians make incredible music in and outside their respective genres. Both of them have hits under their belts, so the chances of them both making a mediocre jam are very slim. Fans on the comment section of the video also cheered them on.
Other amapiano and amapiano fusion songs
As I’ve mentioned, Kwesta was on the amapiano songs Ziwa Muntru and Krrr ( Phum’imali ). Cassper Nyovest has made the tracks Plane I-landile, Siyathandana, Remote Control and featured on Monate Mpolaye with Thebe and DJ Sumbody. Big Zulu was also featured on the song Shwi with King Stunna. These songs brought together fans from both genres, and they became hits.
