Generations The Legacy team celebrated Manaka Ranaka’s Best Actress win in Lucy style. Manaka’s win at the SAFTA was long overdue. She has brought so much life into the character of Lucy, and we cannot imagine anybody more deserving.
It seems her colleagues also feel the same. The South African Film and Television Awards took place on Saturday and they happened virtually.
The video shows Manaka coming out of a room at Henley Studios and finding Selma Tyelbooi waiting for her with other people and then they all break into a praise song while Manaka walks down the passage.
She then comes straight to the camera and waves.
The awards were very interesting but that’s not what this article is about—this one 8s about Manaka Ranaka and her big win as the Best Actress in a Soapie.
Manaka plays the role of Lucy Diale on Generations The Legacy. Lucy is a strong and streetwise go-getter with a bit of flair. She owns a shebeen in Alexander or Gomora as it is called.
Manaka joined Generations after the show dealt with a strange incident where all the actors left the show after a disagreement with the SABC.
The channel developed a new storyline with new characters, and Manaka was one of them.
The minute she came on screen, she won our hearts; the rest is history.
Manaka took the award after being nominated with heavyweights like Shoki Mmola who was nominated for playing Celia Magongwa on Skeem Saam, so this win is a big deal for her.
Celebrations for her win have been ongoing since the weekend. Manaka thanked everyone for their support on set and praised her colleagues for always making things easy on stage for her to bring Lucy forward.
“Iyhoooooo guys,ngiWINILE.”
Manaka put on a dress designed for her by Lindokuhle Mnguni who made a dress for Relebogile Mabotja who was 9ne of the hosts at the virtual ceremony.
Manaka’s dress was a beautiful Cream gown with black embroidery. She finished her look with a beautiful natural haircut and makeup.
Manaka has been receiving congratulatory messages from industry friends like Lerato Mvelase and Kelly Khumalo, wishing her the best on a well-done job.
Generations The Legacy had also congratulated her on her big win.
