The court case of the slain footballer Senzo Meyiwa is currently underway, and there is drama already. Advocate Teffo left the court in handcuffs, and the police did not want to answer any questions the media was posing on them.
This happened immediately after Thursday’s s proceedings were adjourned.
The advocate abruptly stopped questioning the first state witness Surgent Thabo Mosia, a forensic field worker, because he said his life had been threatened. TT Thibane, Teffo’s Instructing attorney, intervened and alleged threatening phone calls.
Advocate Teffo was arrested for allegedly failing to appear in court.
The investigating officer issued a warrant of arrest to Teffo because he was supposed to appear in court in Hillbrow but didn’t do so, when Teffo asked why they are arresting him now, that’s when the police officer told him that they were not there to negotiate.
Advocate Teffo is representing the four accused of the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.
Social media is going wild over these new developments.
The death of the soccer star had been the most controversial case since he was shot eight years ago.
Netflix is currently running a 5 part Docu-Series on the story, and it only served to raise more questions.
” They are arresting me because I am in this case”, Advocate Teffo said when asked what he was charged with.
The altercation between him and the police got a little rough when he asked to speak to his lawyers.
The advocate said that Minister Bheki Cele didn’t want him representing the men on trial for the Meyiwa murder trial.
Social media is smelling a rat in all of this, saying there is a cover-up going on and that someone is working hard to cause disruption with the case.
