Royal AM President Shauwn Mkhize and her son Andile Mpisane who doubles as a chairman and player, are always celebratory whether their team wins or loses. The club leadership shared a video of themselves dancing soon after losing to Sekhukhune United.
Sitting fifth on the log, Royal AM considered a goal in the fifty-fifth minute courtesy of Edwin Gyimah without a reply. The team’s run of good form seems to end after a blistering start to the campaign. However, Royal AM has silenced doubters as fans expected them to be fighting relegation.
Royal AM is not MamMkhize’s first club. She once co-owned Royal Eagles together with ex-husband Sbu Mpisane but lost it due to the divorce.
Mkhize’s divorce with Sbu Mpisane
The news about MamMkhize’s divorce went public in 2018. The power couple, seemingly destined to stay together for life, fell apart as Sbu Mpisane was accused of cheating and ‘lacking love.’
Mkhize first talked about her separation from her ex-husband during the airing of her reality show Kwa MamMkhize. She accused Mpisane of caring only about himself and causing her to lose herself. She also claimed she lost money investing in her ex-husband’s businesses which went into liquidation after she withdrew support.
Their son and current Royal AM Football Club chairman Andile Mpisane also painted a bad picture of his father. He claimed his father fathered four more children outside his marriage, but MamMkhize still supported the children despite not being loved by her husband.
Mpisane reportedly lives on the other wing of their mansion, while Mkhize, Andile and Sbahle Mpisane live on the other wing.
Losing Royal Eagles Football Club
During the bitter divorce proceedings, Sbu Mpisane won the battle of the control of Royal Eagles, a football club Mkhize had set up for her son Andile. Andile revealed her mother endured the pain of letting go of an asset she invested in financially and emotionally.
After the divorce, Mkhize bought another club, rebranded it to Royal AM, installed her son as chairman, and named herself President of the club.
Perhaps it explains why Mkhize is always in a celebratory mood. She shared the video on Instagram yesterday.
