Siyabonga Nene, also known as Inkabi, Big Zulu and the doctor, entertainer, and former child star Dr Musa Mthombeni, took to the socials to show off their BMW cars on separate occasions.
Big Zulu’s BMW
Big Zulu has always been passionate about the BMW car brand, especially the older and more iconic models in South African history, such as the BMW 325i, also known as iBhotsotso or iGusheshe. On the 3rd of May 2021, the rapper, record label owner and actor shared a video of himself spinning his Gusheshe in true township style. On the 8th of October 2021, he purchased another e30 BMW 325i. Yesterday, the star got inside his maroon convertible iGusheshe with customed rims; he shut the door, revved the engine, and then drove the car to its limits.
Dr Musa Mthombeni’s Gusheshe
The excellent doctor bought and customised iGusheshe. His car is black, it’s a convertible, and it has very shiny rims. He drove it in true street style with his elbow outside the window. When he showcased his car, he played the song Mdlwembe by the iconic Kwaito star Zola 7.
The history of BMW 325i in South Africa
Gusheshe broke into the South African car market as an ordinary car for regular professionals. A few gangsters purchased the vehicle in the townships, and it quickly spread like wildfire. More men purchased the car because of its bold and masculine stature, even if they weren’t necessarily criminals. Car spinning became popular in the ’90s, and the Gusheshe was the most prominent car used to spin up to today. Driving this particular car gives one a large amount of street cred; it’s just one of those items that solidify one’s bold character.
Famous South Africans who stan the BMW 325i
The rapper AKA has the car in his music video for Jealousy. Khutso Tsheledi, the YFM DJ for the drive time slot, is a car fanatic who adores the vehicle. Other people who own the car include the undisputed race car drivers like King Katra from Limpopo, Magesh Ndaba from Soweto and Eddie Rasta from Cape Town.
