One of the most prominent gospel singers and performers in the gospel genre from Mzansi, Dumi Mkokstad, appeared on Uzalo. Mzansi was eagerly waiting to see him on the telenovela, and fans couldn’t contain their excitement. Uzalo is based on church and crime and how they balance at times. Perhaps people could not wait to see an actual figure in the gospel world appearing on the soapie.
Uzalo’s storyline is gripping and very controversial. Viewers love the thrill of the show. He saw a gospel figure as prominent as Dumi creating conversation. Conversation of whether or not he approves of the storyline or if Uzalo also entertains him.
Dumi Mkokstad’s role on Uzalo
Gospel sensation Dumi confronted the nature Mbatha about using his face on a poster without his consent. People assumed Dumi would get a character on the show, but it wasn’t so. He got a cameo role, acting as himself on the show. Quite honestly, his acting is worthy of gracing our screens in Mzansi.
He has been in the entertainment industry for years but has never acted before. Uzalo is one of the few shows in Mzansi that allows musical artists to perform. Slava appeared on the show as an actor. Before Sjava became a successful musician, he acted here and there. Big Zulu also acted on Uzalo, and people thoroughly enjoyed his role.
The current storyline on Uzalo
After the character Sbonelo Mhlongo burned down KwaMashu Kingdom Church ( KKC ), Mbatha created his church. Mbatha’s character is the king of drama and exaggeration. He is now trying to lure in as many people to his church to be richer with intelligent tactics.
He created a video, which was edited to look like he was floating in the sky to give the illusion of ‘ heaven ‘. He also took advantage of the KKC situation, and he’s regularly speaking negatively about the church. Remember that the more tithes, the more money for him. With Dumi being one of the biggest gospel stars in Mzansi, his face will lure in more church followers.
Dumi Mkokstad ventures into acting?
Maybe and maybe not. Many celebrities make appearances on shows once, and they never return ever again. Whether Dumi is branching out to acting or not is still a mystery. Predicting if he wants to be an actor is even more complex as he appears on Uzalo in a cameo role. If he got a character, then maybe we were going to see if he’s got it or not.
